About Us

Born From the
Thermals of Southern California

San Diego Hang Gliding & Paragliding Center has been the region's trusted flight school since the early 1990s. Nestled between La Mesa and the Mount Laguna corridor, we operate from one of the most dynamic thermal environments in the Pacific Northwest — where ridge lift, valley thermals, and ocean breezes converge daily.

Our facility houses a full fleet of USHPA-compliant aircraft, an on-site maintenance workshop, and dedicated lodging for out-of-town students. Whether you're chasing your first taste of unpowered flight or refining cross-country navigation for competition, our instructors bring decades of total time and a teaching philosophy rooted in patience, precision, and genuine passion for the sport.
